Reduced form of phosphate; phosphite is a highly mobile compound with systemic effect which is quite easy for plants to uptake. Phosphite has higher dissolvability than phosphate.
Soil or foliar application ensure rapid uptake of phosphite and since it has unidirectional movement in xylem and bidirectional movement in phloem, phosphite is delivered to all plant organs in a short span of time. Phosphite can minimize losses by remaining stable without fixation to phosphate which creates unfavourable conditions in the soil.
